Good afternoon all. Bit of a chilly Wednesday afternoon here. I’m listening to one of my favourite bands of all time and felt the time was right for another blog entry. The band is Queen. I’m sure you’ve heard of them ;)

This week is significant in the history of Queen, and the whole rock/pop industry, as it marks the 40th anniversary of the release of arguably their most famous hit, Bohemian Rhapsody. There are not many people over 30 who do not know some of the words to that song, even if they do seem a little bonkers in places.

At a recent awards ceremony, in London, Brian May collected the Classic Rock Roll of Honour’s Living Legends Award, on behalf of Queen. Not a surprise that he dedicated the award to Freddie Mercury, whom without, there is no doubt Queen would not have gained the fame and popularity that they achieved and still continue to garner.

Nowadays an American, Adam Lambert, who is a previous participant on American Idol, fronts Queen. He is a very good fit for the band, and it must be awfully daunting for anyone that has to take the place of the great man.

There has been some big news concerning the band also recently, as they have been picked to headline the Isle of Wight festival next year, in June 2016. At this present time, it is the only performing date of Queen, so get there if you can!
