Weeks new tracks

This weeks new tracks.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well! I’m pretty great actually, despite all the curveballs that 2016 threw my way!

2017 so far has been all about the music for me.  There have been some great new releases lately. New Artists and old have surprised me this year, and hopefully they will continue as the year progresses.

Tracks of the week.

My top 4 songs of the week, perfect for listening to really loudly on the train to work.

Stormzy - Big for your Boots

Back with a vengeance, and some great lyrics, Stormzy has burst in 2017 with a 4 minute song threatening to beat you up.  My favourite parts? Stormzy rapping in a chicken shop about how you’re too old for Twitter

Katy Perry - Chained to the Rhythm

In case you missed it, Katy Perry has (finally) been awakened and this new era is ‘Purposeful Pop’.  Songs now feature lyrics such as ‘Are we crazy? / Living our lives through a lens / Trapped inour white picket fence/ Like Ornaments’ against  backdrop of pure pop meets RnB.

M.I.A - P.O.W.A

If you’ve ever thought to yourself that Obama and Osama sounds pretty alike, then you should’ve written a song about it.  M.I.A has finally realised and so we have a song about similar sounding names.  Amazing.

Sia - Move you body

Singing a song originally meant for Shakira, Sia’s latest single features some great lyrics such as ‘Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh’  Inspirational as fuck.  Bonus points go towards her video, which features a child wearing a wig.  How original for Sia.

Bonus shoutout:

Hercules and Love Affair ft Faris Badwan - Controller
